Pre-Treatment

To achieve the best results from your cosmetic tattoo procedure we ask that you have read the following pre procedure instructions.

  • Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week before procedure
  • Do not tan two weeks prior or have sunburned face
  • Do not have any type of facial/peel 2 weeks prior to treatment
  • Discontinue Vitamin A/Retinol products one month prior to treatment
  • Do not have botox 2 weeks prior
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior (natural blood thinners)
  • Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
  • Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days before the procedure
  • Do not work out the day of the procedure
  • Do not drink alcohol 48 hours before or after your procedure
  • Do not consume coffee before or after on the day of your procedure
  • If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend taking either Zovirax or a cold sore preventative 5-7 days prior to your lip appointment.

Aftercare Advice

During Healing:

  • No caffeine 48 hours after the procedure.
  • No alcohol consumption 48 hours after the procedure.
  • No exercise or sweating for 7 days after procedure.
  • No sun exposure to tattooed area for 7 days; use a hat if necessary.
  • No use of cosmetics or acids such as glycolic acid, lactic acid and Vitamin A on the tattooed area for 7 days.
  • No sea or chlorine swimming for 14 days.
  • Do not pick any scabs off the area, otherwise you may lose pigment or risk scarring.

Immediately After (all areas):

  • Be sure to clean area with wet cotton pad with medium pressure to remove lymph (clear fluid) every 30 minutes for 3 hours after the procedure.

Brows:

  • 7 Days: Dry healing with no contact with water.
  • Day 7 – 8: Apply vaseline for 10 mins then wipe with wet cotton pad.
  • Do not dye, wax, tweeze, or use electrolysis for 2 weeks in the cosmetic tattoo area. You can tweeze outside / around the cosmetic tattoo

Eyeliner:

  • Eyeliner surface can take up to 4 days to heal, deeper healing will take longer.
  • Swelling is minimal and can last 1 – 3 days.
  • Contact lens may be worn within 24 hours of having procedure.
  • Do not use mascara until outer healing is complete (5 days).

Lips:

  • 7 Days: Dry healing with no contact with water.
  • Day 3 – 7: Apply small amount of vaseline if necessary. Maximum twice a day.
  • Immediately after treatment, lips will feel swollen and tender.
  • Lips can peel for a week. Do not pick at dry skin and allow lips to naturally exfoliate.

The colour will be darker immediately after treatment but fade by up to 30% during healing. True colour will be seen after 4-6 weeks.
Always contact your technician or doctor at first sign of an allergic reaction or infection. Constant intense itching, hot burning pain, lumps, bumps, and blisters, extreme redness, swelling, bleeding, pus, discolouration of the wound is not normal.
